Archbishop Elpidophoros of America decided to convene a monastic assembly on September 21-22 in the Monastery of Saint Nektarios, in order to further promote the value and importance of monasticism in Orthodox tradition and in the spiritual life of the faithful.
This Assembly will be attended by all the Abbots and Abbesses of the Holy Monasteries in the USA under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of America, as well as Hierarchs of the Archdiocese.
The agenda of the Assembly will include presentation from the Hierarchs and all the heads of the monastic communities and will conclude with a festal celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, September 22, in the Katholikon of the St. Nektarios Monastery.
