On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America is expected to visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople to attend the enthronement of the newly elected Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.
The enthronement ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 20, at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Chalcedon. The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will preside over the enthronement ceremony, while many hierarchs from Constantinople, Greece, and Europe are expected to attend.
The Greek government is expected to be represented by Konstantinos Vlasis, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister.
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America will be received by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with whom they will have a meeting and cooperation on issues concerning the Archdiocese of America.
The last time Archbishop Elpidophoros visited Constantinople was last August.
Information from the “National Herald” states that the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is particularly happy and excited about the great outcome of the Theological School issue with the reaffirmation of its academic recognition.
