Archbishop: Children are our future and our optimism

“Children and young people are our future, our treasure and our optimism,” stressed the Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, in his greeting at the Original Youth Youth Concert organized by the Youth and Family Foundation of the Archdiocese of Athens on the occasion of the feast of the Three Hierarchs.

The musical concert took place in the Central Hall of the University of Athens in the framework of the three-day events on the general theme “Art in the education of children and young people”.

The Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Bishop Symeon of Thespies, clergy and lay people attended the concert.

The Director of the Youth and Family Foundation Archimandrite Simeon Venetsianos welcomed the Archbishop and the attendees and presented the musical event.

Τhe Youth and Children’s Symphony Orchestra of Archbishopric of Athens, under the leadership of Nina Patrikidou, and the Youth Choir of Church of St. Varvara of Argyroupolis under the leadership of Lora Petropoulou, participated in this original young people’s concert.

Shortly before the end of the concert, the Archbishop thanked and congratulated all those who contributed to this evening’s event, as well as the parents who are struggling and sacrificing themselves in caring their children, something which is the best reward.

He also spoke about the difficulties we are currently dealing with and stressed that we all have to fight for our children, who are our treasure, our future, our optimism.

Referring to the importance and value of art and music, he congratulated the children involved with music, saying that the music cultivates an attitude, which protects us from daily difficulties.
