A delegation of the Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, consisting of Archbishop Irenaeus of Crete, President, and the Metropolitans Eugenios of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, and Kyrillos of Ierapitna and Sitia, visited Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion.
The hierarchs of the Church of Crete raised issues and problems that concern the clergy, the monastic fraternities and the people of the Church of Crete, the institution of the family and the need to uphold the principles and values of Orthodox identity and self-awareness of our Culture.
PM Mitsotakis expressed his joy for the meeting and assured that the Greek Government and himself would make every effort to support the social, educational and pastoral work of the Church of Crete, even in these difficult times.
