In the presence of dozens of believers, the feast of the Saint Christophoros the Great martyr was celebrated solemnly at the homonymous church in Ano Neapoli, Nicaea on Wedenesday, May 8.
Metropolitan Alexios of Nicaea officiated at the Great Vespers service, accompanied by the Chief of the Church, Archim. Nikolaos Krasas.
The Divine Word was proclaimed by Metropolitan Alexios, who referred to the life and martyrdom of Saint Christoforos, while he mentioned the progress of the construction of the church.
“Within a short period of time you with your love, and Fr. Nicholas achieved to build this church. The church will be ready by this time next year. I believe in you and in Father Nicholas,” the Metropolitan said regarding the progress of the construction of the church.
“Unfortunately, as we are seeing, the parishes will have only one priest, especially now that the priests will not be paid,” added Metropolitan Alexios.
