On Lazarus Saturday, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras presided the Divine Liturgy at Evangelistria (Virgin Mary) Church in Patras, assisted by Bishop Chrysanthos of Kernitsa and many priests.
During the Divine Liturgy, Chrysostomos, after the ordination of deacon Georgios Vlahos to presbyter, encouraged him to “lift high the Cross of Priesthood with patience and deep belief in God”.
Metropolitan of Patras reminded the new presbyter that priesthood is a path of exercise of faith, patience, humility and love. This path is unbeaten and its all uphill, a Golgotha (Calvary), but it is also a Cross that ends up in victory and the joy of Resurrection.
