On Saturday, September 12, the Metropolitan Arsenius of Austria, Exarch of Hungary and Central Europe performed the Sanctification at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Holy Trinity for the beginning of the new school year at the Greek National School of Vienna under the auspices of the General Archieratic Vicar and Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Ioannis Nikolitsis, of the Archimandrite Ilias Papadopoulos and of the Archdeacon Maximos Rudko and in the presence of the Director of the Consular Office in Vienna Sofoklis Mandalidis as well as the parents and guardians of the students.
In his greeting, the Metropolitan first expressed his joy for the presence of many people despite the difficult times we are going through due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus COVID-19.
Secondly, he reiterated his invitation to all to remain united in the established daily common afternoon prayer and especially to the Students not to neglect the evening prayer to their Guardian Angel.
He also stressed, in addition to our spiritual vigilance and our trust in the Doctor of souls and bodies, Lord Jesus Christ, the importance of being compliant with the necessary measures for our health and well-being during the courses without fear and panic.
The Metropolitan, finally, assured the Parents and Guardians that our Holy Diocese will support them in every possible difficulty of the new school year, since its purpose is to establish the Greek language and culture to all generations of the Diaspora wishing to everyone a good and creative school year!
