On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, a significant congregation of devoted individuals, hailing from Patras, Greece, and beyond, gathered to honor the Feast of the Apostle Andrew with grand Festive Vespers in the city of Patras.
The eminent presence of Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida marked the celebration, where he presided over the Great Vespers and delivered a profoundly theological and enlightening Holy Sermon.
The Vespers Service was co-celebrated by: former Metropolitan Amvrosios of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, and devoutly praying from the Holy altar, Metropolitan Ierotheos of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia, Metropolitan Athanasios of Ilia and Oleni, Metropolitan Theoklitos of Ierissos, Mount Athos, and Ardamerion, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Mani, and Bishop Chrysanthos of Kernitsa. Additionally, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to the visiting Hierarchs. He conveyed well-wishes and heartfelt greetings on behalf of the Holy Clergy and the devout residents of Patras.
The Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle this year was observed with a particularly jubilant spirit. The hearts of Patras’ people overflowed with joy, especially following the canonization of Saint Gervasios, the God-bearer of Patras, by the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
