The first tourist bus from Metaxourgio, Athens, to Ukraine, chartered by the Ukrainian Community, left at noon.
Outside the Ukrainian embassy in Filothei, Athens, today there are fewer people than yesterday but many Ukrainian citizens living in our country came to the embassy to find out what is happening in their villages, in places where they have relatives and friends.
However, there are people who want to return to Ukraine, even though they have lived in Greece for 20 or 25 years. They want to go close to their own people in Ukraine. Some of them want to return to join the volunteer lists to enlist in the army and fight. According to the Vice-President of the Ukrainian Community, there are many such young people.
For this reason, tourist buses are chartered by the community here as the only way to travel to Ukraine is by road.
In our country, however, there are dozens of tourists who want to return and are in great distress as they do not know what is happening, they can not communicate, they want to return to their families and turn to the embassy in order to find a solution and travel.
