On January 6 and 7, 2021, the Ukrainian Orthodox Parishes of the Metropolis of Austria in Vienna and Budapest, celebrated according to the Julian calendar the Nativity of the Lord.
On the evening of January 6, the Priests of the Parish of Saint Vladimiros and Saint Olga, Fr. George Strugov and Fr. Mykola Lesiuk, performed the Great Vespers Service and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Holy Temple of St. George in Vienna, while the next day, January 7, Metropolitan Arenios of Austria, Exarch of Hungary and Central Europe presided over the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Archdeacon Maximos Rugyko with the presence of a limited number of faithful due to the restrictive measures to limit the spread of the new coronavirus, which were strictly observed.
Later in the day the second Divine Liturgy was performed at the Holy Temple of St. George, while the Holy Services of the feast of Christmas in the Ukrainian Orthodox Parish in Budapest were performed by Fr. Romanos Vasylevych.
