Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria, Exarch of Hungary and Central Europe, as Director of the Greek National School of Vienna, invites the faithful at an event in the context of the celebration of the World Day of the Greek Language on the theme: “220 Years of the Greek National School of Vienna: Its contribution to the learning and spread of the Greek language and culture” on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Vienna.
The event, which will be coordinated by the Hierarchical Vicar Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, Ioannis Nikolitsis, will be attended by the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georgios Kotsiras, who will address the audience, and the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Austria, Georgios Iliopoulos. The Metropolitan will talk about the contribution of the Greek National School of Vienna, with reference to historical landmarks and people from its course through time.
Students of the Greek National School will present poetry recitations, accompanied by a musical program featuring songs performed by the Chorus of the Metropolis of Austria under the direction of Mrs. Xanthi Tokmakidou-Trifunovic, with guitar accompaniment by Mr. Ioannis Raptis.
