The Ukrainian parliament on Wednesday published in its newspaper a law that it recently passed to introduce legal procedures for changing the affiliation of religious communities.
The legislation, which was adopted by the parliament earlier this month and published on Wednesday in the parliament newspaper “Golos Ukrainy”, takes effect on Jan. 31.
Based on the legislation, a religious community in the country may change its affiliation with the consent of at least two thirds of its members.
The legislation bans the alienation of property of the community which changes its affiliation.
