Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today called on the European Union for dialogue.
“We expect the European Union to keep its promises, not to discriminate against us or at least not to become a tool for creating hostilities against our country,” Erdogan said in his address during a video conference of the AKP party.
“We do not see ourselves anywhere but in Europe. We intend to build our future together with Europe,” he said.
“We want stronger cooperation with our friends and allies,” he said.
“We believe that we have no problem with any country or institution that can not be resolved through politics, diplomacy and dialogue,” he said.
In the same speech, Erdogan said that Turkey would like to “actively use the old and close alliance relations with the United States to find a solution to regional and international problems.”
