The children of “Dimitrio” Centre cut the New Year’s cake together with Konstantinos Dimtsas, General Manager of “Apostoli” and the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Bishop Symeon of Thespies.
“Le Monde” culinary school’s volunteers, who have been cooking every day now for the last six years for all the children of “Dimitrio”, also prepared the New Year’s cake.
The Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Bishop Symeon of Thespies, wished all children to have a prosperous year full of health and progress.
“It is a great honor for me to be with you today. I want to wish all a prosperous year with health and love. I wish all of you who work in “Dimitrio” and “Apostoli” to continue to offer generously to our fellow human being. The work done everyday is admirable,” said the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Athens.
Konstantinos Dimtsas thanked Protosyncellus for his presence and stressed: “We are trying to provide help and support for vulnerable families and their children. “Dimitrio” Center takes care of 60 children, aged 6-12 years old, who come here after school, eat lunch, read and participate in various activities. By establishing “Dimitrio” Center we achieved to become a second family for all these children, embracing them from the very first beginning. And we will continue to do so.”
