The Vespers service of Saint Sophia of Klisoura was celebrated on Sunday, May 5, at the Monastery of the Birth of the Theotokos, in Klisoura, Kastoria, where Eldress Sophia lived in ascetism for 48 years.
Metropolitan Pavlos of Drama presided at the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Metropolitan Athanasios of Sisanion and Siatista, and Metropolitan Seraphim of Kastoria.
The Divine Word was proclaimed by Metropolitan Pavlos of Drama, who stressed: “Saint Sophia of Klisoura taught us patience, while patience and humiliation is the key that opens the floodgates of divine grace that will lead to cleansing from the sinful passions.”
