By the Abbot Porphyrios from the Holy Monastery of Timios Prodromos in Veroia
Since ancient time wealth was the blessing of God. If you have many children, it is the blessing of God.
If you live for many years, it is the blessing of God. If you enjoy good health, it is the blessing of God.
And God Himself came into the world, our Lord Jesus Christ, and spread His own blessing to human beings.
To the blind he gave the sight, he healed the lame man and he walked. The dead rose from Hades thanks to Him. He cleansed lepers. He fed the hungry. He filled the nets with fish. He walked on the sea.
And the woman, despised and scapegoat, became the Mother of God, and she took the first role.
And more, and more.
And then He left us His Gospel, the Good Word, this Word of the Father.
And then everything changed.
And he sits high up beside us, and sees us. And he judges. And He gives gifts. His light is overwhelming in our souls.
Many young children were the first witnesses.
Nicephorus the Leper became a saint.
The foul for Christ Sophia had two or one child eaten by the pigs and Sophia became a saint.
Matrona had neither eyes nor feet. And she became a saint.
The Holy Gospel led to the overthrow.
Wealth is poverty. Well, and if you have wealth, you blow through all the money you have a life goes on.
Health is the incurable illness of patience.
Hunger will lead you to Paradise. Unless you’re hungry, you can not pray, bend over or repent. Poverty is the lack of patience.
And the heart, flooded with grace and joy, says incessantly: Glory be to God the Father, And to Christ the Son.
Glory to Your forbearance, O Lord, glory to You.
Brothers, there is hope.
My brothers, our hope has died and resurrected.
