To celebrate the Annunciation as the Christian Mothers’ Day, the Archdiocese of Sibiu offered gifts to mothers at the Maternity Ward of the County Hospital.
The event was organized by the Filantropia Ortodoxă Sibiu Association and the Social-Philanthropic Department of the archdiocese, both coordinated by Fr Adrian Roman.
The gifts consisted of diapers and hygiene products, as well as food for newborns.
“Annunciation reminds all mothers, all Christian women, that the Mother of God is their patroness and model, that they are called to a holy service and sacrifice, to bear fruit and make new branches of the Church and society flourish around them,” said Fr Adrian Roman.
“We congratulate them, we bless them, we wish them a sincere Long Live and we assure them that they can always find encouragement and support in the Church because there are many delicate situations such as pregnancy crisis or lack of means to raise newborns”, added the coordinator of the Social-Philanthropic Department of the Archdiocese of Sibiu.
The activity was part of the Month for Life, a series of events organized in the context of this year’s March for Life.
On the occasion of the visit, Fr Adrian Roman thanked the medical staff on behalf of the Archdiocese of Sibiu.
