Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias held a meeting with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem on Sunday, July 28.
During the meeting the Foreign Minister and Patriarch Theophilos discussed issues of common interest.
On behalf of the other Christian Communities, the Patriarch of Jerusalem urged Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias to make every effort, either political or diplomatic, to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanya in order to deter the Ateret Cohanim organization from a invading or occupying the Imperial Hotel and Petra Hotel owned by the Patriarchate.
Moreover, the Primate of the Church of Zion honoured Nikos Dendias with the distinction of the Grand Commander of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and awarded him the Golden Cross of the Patriarchate.
On his part, Nikos Dendias thanked the Patriarch of Jerusalem for this honorary distinction, stressing that “with the help of God we hope to be useful”.
