The first official visit of Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine to Rome began on Monday, January 23.
As a member of the delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine will participate in a meeting with Pope Francis and with heads of organizations of the Roman Catholic Church responsible for inter-Christian-religious dialogue.
The Metropolitan of Kyiv is accompanied on his trip by Archbishop Evstratiy of Chernivtsi, deputy head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Church of Ukraine.
In addition to meetings at the Vatican, the delegation of the Church of Ukraine will attend the prayer for Christian unity, which will be celebrated by Pope Francis in the Basilica of St. Paul on the occasion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
