With the feast of The Virgin Mary of Kykkos (Panagia tou Kykkou), the monastery that has connected its history with the martyrdom of Megalonisos, the events of the Cypriot Brotherhood in Egypt begin for the new winter season.
The Cypriot Fraternity will perform The Nativity of The Theotokos, in the Community Church of the Annunciation of The Theotokos of Alexandria, on Sunday, September 13, immediately after the Sunday Divine Liturgy.
At the same time, the historic parish association will perform – as usual on this day – the memorial service of the blessed Patriarch Peter VII of Alexandria, who died tragically in 2004, in the icy waters of the Aegean sea, during the tragic accident with the fatal Chinook, heading to Mount Athos with his Honorable Escort who also all lost their lives during the helicopter crash.
The Divine Liturgy will begin at 9 in the morning, during which the artoklasia (Blessing of the Five Loaves) will be performed and the memorial service will follow.
