The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy, which took place on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Patriarchal Church, for the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul.
RCatholic Bishop Antonio Stagliano, President of the Pontifical Academy of Theology of the Vatican, Bishop Theophan of Philomelion, clergy and nuns, the Consul General of Greece in Constantinople, Georgia Sultanopoulou, and several believers attended the service.
On the eve of the feast, the Ecumenical Patriarch presided over the Great Vespers.
On both days, a fragment of the Holy Relic of St. Peter, which Pope Francis of Rome offered to the Church of Constantinople in 2019, was exhibited for worship by the faithful.
