The feast of the Saint Great Kings and equal-to-the-apostles Constantine and Helen was celebrated with splendor in the homonymous church in Nea Ionia.
On the eve of the feast on Monday, May 20, 2019, the Great Vesper was officiated by Metropolitan Makarios of Aneon, along with many clergymen and in the presence of a multitude of believers.
Today, Tuesday, Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia officiated at the Matins and then celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
In his speech, Gabriel referred to the life and great contribution to the consolidation of the Christian Faith of Sts. Constantine and Helen, who with their ideas, perceptions and vision changed the world and with their warm faith honoured God by removing every idea of idolatry.
The Metropolitan also warmly thanked the ERT Choir for its presence, while at the end he wished many years to the celebrating former Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, Constantine, speaking of his great spiritual and pastoral work in the Holy Metropolis of N. Ionia and Philadelphia.
