Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia visited all the churches of the Holy Metropolis on the morning of Holy Monday and of Holy Tuesday. By the generous support of the Sklavenitis supermarkets and Konstantinos Tasoulas, he offered 800 parcels of love that contain a considerable amount of food and other essential items as a substantial help and relief for our fellow citizens in need in view of Easter.
The Metropolitan himself distributed the parcels to his fellow citizens at home, in the presence of clergymen of the Holy Metropolis and with the help of volunteers, always respecting all the necessary preventive measures due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Irakleio and Chalkidona thanked all those who contributed to the delivery of the love parcels to our brothers and sisters who already have many problems to face.
It is worth noting that the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Irakleio and Chalkidona distributes more than 1,500 ration packs daily and care for more than 700 families through the eight parish Love Centers.
