On Thursday, April 18, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, during his four-day visit to Athens, met with the Ambassador of Australia to Greece, Alison Duncan.
Their discussion focused on the upcoming visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch to the Fifth Continent, scheduled for October, which will mark the culmination of the centennial celebrations of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
A social media post by the Australian Embassy recalled that the Ecumenical Patriarch will be visiting Australia for the second time as Ecumenical Patriarch and for the first time in nearly three decades.
“We wish His All Holiness a fruitful visit,” the embassy said, “and we are confident that Australians of all faiths will warmly welcome him.
