Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his deep sorrow for the tragic train accident that occurred last night in the area of Tempi, which killed or injured dozens of our fellow humans.
The Ecumenical Patriarch, during today’s Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts which he presided over, prayed intensely that the All-Good God would repose the souls of the victims and strengthen their families, as well as help for the speedy restoration of the health of the wounded. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims of the two deadly car accidents that occurred earlier in the same area of Tempi.
The Ecumenical Patriarch contacted the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, expressing through her the condolences and support of the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Holy Great Church of Christ to all the pious people of Greece.
