The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople was declared an honorary lecturer of the Georgia’s State University of Sukhumi, during a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Throne Room of the Patriarchal residence.
The honor was bestowed by the rector of the university, Prof. Zurab Khonelidze, who referred to the ministry and the overall contributions of the Primate of the Mother Church to humanity. The academics also referred to the very close spiritual relations of the Ecumenical Throne with the Orthodox Church and the people of Georgia.
