The delegation of the Synodical Office of Pilgrimage Tours and Development of Religious Tourism of the Church of Greece will be in Moscow on Monday, March 11, in order to participate in the 26th Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (12-16 March 2019).
The Delegation of the Church of Greece consists of Secretary, Archimandrite Spyridon Katramados, Special Advisor Prof. Christos Petreas, and Associate Mario Mago.
The MITT, which was officially inaugurated today, Tuesday, March 12, 2019, is one of the most important International Tourism Exhibitions worldwide. This year, Greece is particularly interested in MITT due to the large number of Russian tourists who visit Greece each year.
The inauguration of the Greek Stand in MITT exhibition was attended by Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, who in her speech referred particularly to the development of religious tourism and to the excellent and fruitful collaboration of the Ministry with the Church of Greece.
Archimandrite Spyridon Katramados, as Representative of the Church of Greece, conveyed the wishes and blessings of Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and All Greece.
The afternoon of the same day, the Delegation of the Church of Greece after invitation, participated in the press conference of the Greek minister of Tourism, and had meetings with the Greek diplomatic leadership, and representatives from various regions and municipalities of Greece, as well as tour operators operating in the Russia.
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ will meet with the Greek Delegation in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow, after the end of the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.
The delegation of the Church of Greece will stay in Russia until Friday, March 16, 2019.
