Abbot of Vatopedi Monastery Elder Ephraim and Abbot of Xenophontos Monastery Elder Alexios, will be the two abbots of Mt. Athos who will accompany the delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Ukraine, Epiphanius.
It seems that this move was made to mitigate the impact of the decision taken by the Holy Community not to send an official delegation to Epiphanius’ enthronement.
It is recalled that Romfea.gr two days ago had informed about this decision of the Holy Community of Mt. Athos, as well as the subsequent change of position, by allowing two abbots to participate in the convoy of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
