A delegation of students from Oakleigh Grammar School visited the headquarters of the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne, on Tuesday, December 19, accompanied by parents and Mrs. Natasha Spanou, the school’s Greek Culture Coordinator, and Mr. Konstantinos Damatopoulos, Professor, responsible for Orthodox Christian Studies.
The students offered Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis a bouquet of Christmas flowers, while they sang traditional carols from the island of Chios. They also conveyed to the Bishop the wishes of the entire school community for Christmas and the New Year.
For his part, the Bishop of Sozopolis moved, returned the wishes, and conveyed to the children the blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia. Finally, he offered each student a small gift and a treat.
