Today’s Saturday, before Pentecost Sunday, is called “Soul Saturday” of “Saturday of the Souls”. It is the second of the two Soul Saturdays of the year (the first one precedes Sunday of Carnival Sunday).

Respect for the dead as well as the memory of death not only help man to be humble and philanthropist, but also cultivate the consciousness that the present world is temporary and pointless.
