Russia has unequivocally stated that it will not take part in a peace summit regarding Ukraine, even if it receives a formal invitation, announced Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova today, as reported by the Russian news agency Ria.
The Kremlin’s stance comes in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for a spring summit in Switzerland to discuss his vision for peace with Kyiv’s allies. However, on February 26, the Kremlin rejected the idea of holding peace talks without Russia as absurd.
Zelensky’s initiative for a peace summit in Switzerland is part of his efforts to find a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Despite his hopes for broader international involvement, Russia remains steadfast in its position.
