An article of the website of the Patriarchate of Romania refers to the participation and presence of the church on the internet.
The article welcomes the involvement of the clergy in the internet, which, however, shoul be held in a responsible attitude, both for the institution they represent and for those to whom they address.
It can even be considered necessary to involve the clergy in the Internet because, as the article notes, the believers are online too.
The article even hosts statements by Patriarch Daniel of Romania, who stressed that “our church has a duty to understand the way in which information is disseminated today, and to use the means of communication to communicate the values of Orthodoxy, and to have a presence in social media in order to meet today’s man, who is also a user of the new technologies and the media.”
