Patriarch Daniel of Romania warmly received Evangelia Grammatika, the Ambassador of Greece in Bucharest, during a visit on Wednesday.
In a press release, it was noted that Patriarch Daniel acknowledged and expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s extensive diplomatic background at the onset of the meeting.
During the encounter, Ambassador Grammatika conveyed gratitude for the reception and stressed the significant role that the Romanian Orthodox Church plays in society, as well as the valuable contributions of Orthodoxy in upholding spiritual values.
Patriarch Daniel highlighted the significance of Ambassador Grammatika’s inaugural diplomatic mission and her first official visit following the presentation of her credentials to Romania. He also talked about the longstanding and amicable relations between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Church of Greece, emphasizing the shared Byzantine heritage of the two Orthodox nations.
Moreover, Patriarch Daniel commemorated the notable contributions of Greek individuals to Romanian culture and education over the years.
Towards the conclusion of their meeting, the press release mentioned that the they discussed contemporary issues, particularly those arising from ongoing military conflicts. Both parties stressed the imperative of fostering solidarity, peace, and cooperation among nations.
