Today, Sunday, May 12, the impressive Church of Panagia Portaitissa (Gatekeeper) in Mount Mahata, Georgia, was inaugurated in a festive and religious atmosphere.
The inauguration of the Holy Church was held by the Catholicos-Patriarch Ilias of Tbilisi and All Georgia, who also presided the festive Divine Liturgy.
The Church, which is dedicated to Panagia Portaitissa, is a part of Theotokos Monastery, the construction of which began with the blessings of Patriarch Ilias in 2002.
Furthermore, a faith copy of Panagia Portaitissa, which arrived from Mount Athos in Georgia on April 5, 2016, has been placed in the Church.
