Patriarch of Alexandria Theodore offered a memorial service for late Patriarch Petros and those who accompanied him on a trip to Mount Athos on September 11, 2004.
“May the late Patriarch Petros rest in eternity, as the work he dreamed of is realized. And this is the greatest gift I can offer him,” said his successor, Patriarch Theodore at the memorial service that took place this morning at the Monastery of Saint Georgios in old Cairo.
While paying tribute to the late Patriarch, along with Metropolitan Nikolaos of Ermoupolis Nikolaos, the Patriarch of Alexandria stressed that “Patriarch Petros was a native of Cyprus. And we thank him.”
The memorial service was attended by representatives of the Greek and Cypriot Embassies in Cairo and many people.
