From the church that has connected its history with the greater chapters of the history of the Egyptian and all Greek Expatriates, the grandiose Church of Evangelismos tis Theotokou of the Greek community of Alexandria, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Africa Theodore II conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the three homelands of Hellenism to the country of Nile river: Greece, Cyprus and Egypt, making a special reference to Africa.
In the presence of the General Consul of Greece to Alexandria, Athanasios Kotsionis, and the vice president of the Greek Community Ioannis Siokas, Patriarch Theodore sang “Christ has risen” with the crowd of expatriates who had come to celebrate this great day and many visitors from Greece and Cyprus.
“Happy Easter to Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Africa and the whole world”, wished Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria. “May the Light of the Resurrection guide us towards love, forgiveness, patience and Easter joy”, he concluded.
