Bishop Maximos of Melitene performed the Divine Liturgy on Palm Sunday in the Saints Cosmas and Damian Orthodox Church in the historic city of Avignon.
The Bishop was welcomed by Protopresbyter Fr. Georges Eymard, and Deacon Nicolas Meissonnier.
At the end of the Matins service, Bishop Maximos administered chrism to two young recipients, welcoming them to the Orthodox Church and the parish of Saints Cosmas and Damian in Avignon.
Bishop Maximos of Melitene offered to the chief of the church a Byzantine Cross Pendant Necklace, a gift from Metropolitan Emmanuel of France.
