The Archdiocesan District of Northcote in Victoria organized three events dedicated to young people, students, teachers on January 30-31, on the occasion of the feast of the Three Holy Hierarchs.
On the feast day, the Archepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, Archimandrite Fr. Evmenios Vasilopoulos, presided over the Orthros and Divine Liturgy in the Axion Esti Monastery, in the presence of many young people and teachers as reported by vema.com.au.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Evmenios read a wish for all the students and teachers for Divine Enlightenment in view of the new school year.
Instead of a sermon, Fr. Eumenios read the message of Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the beginning of the new school year. After the Divine Liturgy, a reception followed at the Bookstore of the Archdiocese.
In the evening of the same day, the first dance event of the Central Youth (Agios Paisios) of the Northcote District took place in the events hall of the Parish of Saint Paraskevi in St. Albans. The evening was a great success, as 120 young people from all over Victoria participated in the first youth gathering after the difficult conditions of 2020.
The two-day event culminated on Sunday, January 31, in the reception hall of the Axion Estin Monastery with a dinner attended by representatives of all the Parishes-Communities of the District.
It should be noted that all proceeds from the two-day events were donated to St. John’s College in Preston to support the multiple projects implemented at the school.
