The Ecumenical Patriarchate released an announcement for the events scheduled on December 31 and January 1 to commemorate the feast of the Circumcision of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the sacred memory of Holy Father Basil, Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia.
According to the announcement, the Great Vespers of the Feast will be officiated by the Ecumenical Patriarch on Sunday, December 31, at 2 p.m. On Monday, January 1, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by the Ecumenical Patriarch alongside the Synodal Hierarchs.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the Ecumenical Patriarch will ordain Archimandrite Gregory Frangakis to the the Offikion of the Great Protosyncellus of the Holy Great Church of Christ. The customary reception will follow this solemn occasion.
