Metropolitan Emmanuel of France ordained Pierre Doyard on Saturday morning, December 8, at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen in Paris.
Deacon Pierre is a retired pediatrician and lives in Toulon. He will serve at the Church of the Holy Trinity. His wife is a hagiographer of Greek descent. The young deacon is distinguished for his religious devotion and his contribution to the Parish of Toulon.
The Metropolitan of France in his speech referred to how important is to find devout clergymen to serve the parishes in France and praised the role of teaching Greek in various schools of the country.
At the school of the Greek Parish of Toulon, where Konstantinos Papakosmas, the chief of the church, was teaching Greek, Father Pierre learnt Greek and, thus, delved into Greek theological literature.
