Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos presides over the service of the Salutations to the Theotokos in front of the icon of Virgin Mary, which was brought by the Ecumenical Patriarch from Kyiv.
Metropolitan Kyrillos announced the above in a post on social media, stressing that “in front of this icon of the Virgin Mary we will perform the Salutations to the Theotokos tonight, and then we will pray for the end of the war in Ukraine.”
It should be reminded that the Metropolitan of Imbros had met with Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv in August in Imbros, in the framework of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the priesthood of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
He had even addressed Metropolitan Epifaniy, saying that “Your Beatitude, we know about difficulties, because for us here, our difficulties are intertwined with our history, our lives, with our course, with our continuity.
And all we can humbly tell you is that the blessing and wishes of the Patriarch, the prayers of all, and the love of all of us, will strengthen you so that you can cope with the temporary difficulties and the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine to be established once and for all.
And you will always remember that in the beginning, you came here, a pious pilgrim in Imbros.”
