Metropolitan Antonios of Glyfada was warmly welcomed by the Monastery of Great Lavra on Mount Athos on Wednesday afternoon.
The Metropolitan of Glyfada arrived at the Monastery of Great Lavra, in order to preside over the divine liturgies dedicated in the memory of Saint Athanasios the Athonite, the founder of the monastic community on Mount Athos.
The Metropolitan was received by the Abbot of the Monastery, Elder Prodromos, the Abbot of the Monastery of Iviron, Elder Nathanael, the brotherhood and dozens of pilgrims.
The Abbot of the Monastery, Elder Prodromos, warmly welcomed Metropolitan Antonios, stressing that his presence is a blessing for all.
“We are particularly appreciative of accepting our invitation to attend the feast, to bless the people of God, and to participate in the doxology and pay respects to our patron saint, St. Athanasios,” emphasized the Abbot of the Great Lavra.
On his part, Metropolitan Antonios thanked the Abbot for his warm words.
Finally, the Metropolitan, who was moved, spoke about the four years he stayed in the Great Lavra.
