Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias presided over the Great Vespers Service on the feast of Saint Anna the Mother of the Most Holy Theotokos in Agiokampos.
In his homily, Metropolitan Ignatios referred to the faith and patience of the parents of the Theotokos since at that time childlessness was considered a disgrace. “We must follow their example. We must never lose hope, no matter how heavy the challenges we face in our life. God invites us to follow the path of true love so that we can put our lives in His hands. And when we stand steadily, then He will fill every gap and bring joy to our lives.”
The Metropolitan urged the faithful to keep the fire of faith within burning and never lose our hope in God for He will comfort us. “I came to you tonight to unite our prayers so that we can continue the work and try to prove equal to the mission with which God has entrusted us. We should never lose hope,” the Metropolitan said.
