Metropolitan Naum of Rousse, from the Church of Bulgaria, and Metropolitan Stephanos of Philippi, Neapoli and Thassos held a visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s seat on Tuesday, March 26.
The hierarch of the Church of Bulgaria, accompanied by clerics and his associates, expressed his respect to the Ecumenical Patriarch and asked for his blessing on the occasion of his five-year anniversary of his election as Metropolitan of Rousse.
The meeting was attended by Archim. Charalambos Nitshev, a Bulgarian clergyman of Metropolis of Bursa, as well as members of the Bulgarian communities of Constantinople and of Adrianople.
Then the Ecumenical Patriarch welcomed Metropolitan Stephanos of Philippi, Neapoli and Thasos, accompanied by his associates.
The Hierarch, who ministers one of the historic provinces of the Throne, the so-called “New Countries”, informed Bartholomew about the worship and scientific events to be held by the Metropolis in honour to the Apostle of Nations, St. Paul, who, on one his missionary journeys, taught the gospel in the ancient city of Philippi.
