Without the presence of believers, all the Divine Liturgies of Christmas, New Year and Epiphany will take place in the Regional Unit of Drama, according to an announcement issued by the Holy Diocese of Drama.
Despite the fact that, according to the new Greek Government Gazette, the presence of 25 people is allowed in the churches of each parish and 50 people for the metropolitan church of each area, Metropolitan Pavlos of Drama decided to keep the churches closed for the faithful and the services will take place only with the necessary presence of the clergy and the cantors.
Circles of the Holy Diocese point out that this decision was deemed necessary due to the increased epidemiological burden in the region of Drama, but also because the Metropolitan would like the local church to help prevent the virus from spreading in the slightest, at least in the context of worship events.
The temples, however, will be open from eight in the morning, all the festive days only for individual prayer and the personal service of the faithful, always observing all the sanitary measures.
