Today, Tuesday, July 10, the Church commemorates the 45 Holy Martyrs of Nicopolis (Armenia) who lived and martyred in the 4th century AD, during the terrible persecutions. Leontius, Mauricius, Daniel, Anthony, who held the first positions in the city, stood out among them.
The 45 Holy Martyrs were led as Christians before the ruler, who ordered them to renounce their faith in the true Triune God and to make a sacrifice to idols. However, they bravely refused and at the same time confessed their Christian identity. Outraged, the emperor ordered that they would be thrown into the fire, and so they martyred to the true faith in Jesus Christ.
