On Saturday, June 10, at the church of Saint Alypios of Kionitos in Antalya, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated in an atmosphere of spiritual contemplation and the holy memorial service was chanted on the occasion of the completion of one year since the passing away of His Eminence Metropolitan Sotirios of Pisidia, who served in Korea (1929-2022). Metropolitan Job of Pisidia presided over the divine liturgy and was joined also by Bishop Ambrosios of Evdokiada as well as all the priests and deacons of the Holy Metropolis of Pisidia.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Job reminded the congregation of the words of the Apostle Paul: “Brothers, Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith”. (Heb. 13:7) Reflecting on how great a missionary Metropolitan Sotirios Trampas was, we refer to a hierarch who, although he retired at the age of 84 from the throne of the Metropolis of Korea receiving the honorary title of the historical Province of Pisidia, he did not rest as he well deserved, but with faith and missionary zeal, he undertook the amazing work of resurrecting the ecclesiastical life of this historic throne. Today, the clergy of this living Metropolis are committed to continuing their pastoral work, imitating his faith, for the glory of God and the salvation of the flock entrusted to him.
The memorial service was followed by a meal for all the faithful present in the diocese hall, which had been purchased in the old city of Antalya by the blessed Metropolitan for pastoral needs.
