Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Bolaris met yesterday with the Bureau of Shia Muslims in Greece.
In the debate, the two sides referred to issues of the Shia community living in Greece, religious freedom issues in the countries of the region, as well as the two-day conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Religious Diplomacy on February 28, 2019.
The Deputy Minister noted the need for continuous co-operation, which will be ensured by the special centre to be established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and stressed the importance of promoting religious freedom and respect for the cultural monuments in the wider Middle East region.
The Bureau invited the Deputy Minister to attend a festive dinner held on the occasion of the Ramadan (Iftar) on May 30, 2019.
