After the completion of the Summer School organized in collaboration with the College de France and EHESS on June 11-14, the Hellenic Institute of Venice organizes two educational programs for students from academic institutes abroad.
“The Hellenic Institute for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice is the only institute and research center abroad that belongs to the Greek State and is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The Hellenic Institute in Venice is a culture portal, a beacon of Greek culture in the heart of Europe,” stressed in a message sent by Deputy Foreign Minister Markos Bolaris, who is responsible for the Institute.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first one is the Columbia University of New York program, which as part of the “Mediterranean Venice: Living and Losing a Maritime Empire” course sought cooperation from the Hellenic Institute for the best possible training of its students on the presence of the Greeks and the Greek culture stock in Venice.
The second educational program is a cooperative effort between the Hellenic Institute, the State University of Beijing and the “Greek Language of the Christian Literature” Laboratory of the Department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The Summer School focused on the training of students of Greek language and philology in Beijing under the supervision of Director of the Greek Language Department, Yingxue Chen.
