On Friday, November 18, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America received Eleni Chovri, President of Med-Professionals, at the Archdiocese of America.
Chovri presented Archbishop Elpidophoros with an honorary plaque in recognition of the assistance the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America provided to the community through its Covid-19 Relief Fund. The award had been formally announced in collaboration with Hellenic News of America and ELITOUR (Greek Health Tourism Council) at the 7th Medical Tourism Symposium at the Acropolis Museum in June 2021.
During the meeting, Chovri and Secretary Marianthi Lambrinou informed the Archbishop about their organization’s newest initiatives for strengthening relations between Greece and the diaspora through alternative forms of tourism, like health tourism. These include the “Digital Greek School,” designed specifically as an educational tool for children of the Omogeneia, and the diasporic think tank “Worldwide Communication Between Greeks and Philhellenes.” The Med-Professionals team was visiting New York last week on the occasion of the 31st Annual Hermes Expo.
